1) No Pressure Please – Try to avoid putting pressure on the affected areas for about one to three days after your treatment. No massages or tight headwear that might risk moving your injections from their intended areas. Try not to sleep on the affected areas also, if possible.
2) Shun the Sun – Direct sunlight has a tendency to raise your blood pressure and flush the skin. If you’ve just had Botox®, this could leave bruising around the injection sites. It’s best to avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds, and hot tubs for about 48 hours.
3) Avoid the Booze – You’ll be advised to avoid alcohol before your Botox®, but you’ll want to give it about 24 hours before you have another drink. Why? Because alcohol has an anti-inflammatory effect that thins your blood where bruising can occur. Avoid ibuprofen for the same reasons.
